A sweet new bundle of love …

One of my friends has a new addition to the family … a beautiful little boy called Micah.  He is such a little sweetie!  Catriona visited with him this week and he slept the whole time – bless!

I made a card for us all to sign …

I stamped the main images in marina mist ink, with the bundle of love stamp set from Stampin Up, and then made my own background paper to mount it on to by stamping with the spiced paisley stamp set from the spring mini catalogue – but it’s only available until Monday 30th April 2012 – so you need to hurry if you want to get yours!

In cake class, I made a sugar model of a little girl too … well they say little girls are sugar and spice and all things nice!

Love the little bow on the back of her dress – how cute!

I know it needs work but it’s not bad for my first attempt … can’t wait to make another … and will definitely work on making the features a little cuter next time!

All papercraft supplies from Stampin’ Up!

Card recipe: cardstock: bashful blue, whisper white; stamp sets: bundle of love, spiced paisley; inks: bashful blue, marina mist, certainly celery; accessories: stampamajig, certainly celery grosgrain ribbon (retired), blender pen, stampin dimensionals.

Sweet, sweet aviary …

My friend, Giovanna, was leaving to go on maternity leave to have her second baby and I made a card for us to send her well wishes.

I just love the pastel, sherbet colours pool party, pretty in pink, bashful blue and so saffron used here, with a bit of embossing, punched circles and whisper white ribbon.  I finished off with some faux stitiching drawn with a white gel pen.

I love the aviary stamp set from Stampin Up – how cute are those owls!  I can’t wait to ink up this set again!

Sweet bundle of love …

I started a beginners cake decorating course at night school in September.  My daughter, who is getting married in 18 months’ time, has asked me to make her wedding cake and whilst I feel very honoured, I also feel a little daunted too …

She asked me because I made my own wedding cake … but that was 24 years ago and I only decorated it as my mum made the fruit cake base!  So I thought I’d better do something about it now whilst I have plenty of time to practise …

So far I am loving the course.  We have a lovely teacher (hi Tracey) and I’ve made friends with a great girl, Claire, who helps me enormously.  On the very first lesson, Tracey got us doing some sugar modelling … here’s my first attempt at sugar crafting…

I lost count of how many times I did the ears and took them off again, but I have not laughed so much in ages – it was great fun!

Now for something I feel a little more comfortable with … my friend, Ana, asked me to make a new baby card for her friends in Italy.  I used my favourite baby stamp set from Stampin’ Up! called Bundle of Love…

I just love this two-step stamp set.  The images are so cute they are adorable!  I used whisper white and pretty in pink for the card but the lighting wasn’t quite right when I was photographing it and everything turned out looking a little pink - maybe I should sign up for a photography course next!

Sweet baby …

A while ago, I posted this pic of the card I’d made for my friend who was due to have her baby:

Well baby arrived safely and he is absolutely gorgeous!  I asked his mum if I could post his pic here and he is just too cute for words!

Love the photo!  Reminds me of the Anne Geddes type pics – just beautiful.

Welcome little one!  (gonna break some hearts when he’s older eh?)
