I made a set of 3” x 3” thank you cards, using the fine feathers stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

With strips of designer series paper, large adhesive pearls, tiny fork tied bows…

 and wooden buttons available in the spring/summer catalogue, tied with a piece of linen thread …

Here’s what I used to make today’s cards – all supplies from Stampin’ Up!:

cardstock: naturals ivory, very vanilla; stamp sets: fine feathers, ; inks: bashful blue, crumb cake; accessories: adhesive pearl, wooden button, linen thread, very vanilla seam binding ribbon, adhesive rhinestone, stampin’ write marker pens in marina mist and soft suede, mini glue dots.

So I decided to cheer myself up a bit and got out my scrap box to make a card.  Inspired by a card I saw on Maria’s blog – this is what I came up with …

Lucky limeade is a beautiful shade of green and one of my favourites – I love how it looks with real red for a fresh, Christmassy look.

I stamped the leaf, from the french foliage stamp set, in cherry cobbler and old olive inks onto scraps of real red cardstock and then cut out each one using my paper snips.

Once I made the first flower it was hard to stop making them, and so I just kept going until I was out of scraps!

I found a strip of punched cardstock amongst my scraps too.  The punch is now retired but I loved how it looked on the edge of the dsp …

To achieve the two tone effect on the label, I first inked up the large label from the layered labels set using certainly celery ink, and then added some darker ink here and there using an old olive stampin writer marker pen, before stamping the image onto naturals ivory cardstock and cutting out with the matching apothecary accents framelits.

I used patio party designer series paper for the background, with its scrummy cakes and pretty colours, and made the sentiment, from the create a cupcake stamp set, the focal image, stamped onto whisper white cardstock cut out with the apothecary accents framelits die.  I did a little bit of stamping on the inside too, with a matching strip of dsp …

The pretty, two-tone, pink pirouette ribbon, available in the spring/summer catalogue, is so soft and lovely, and it ties beautifully into a double bow.  It was definitely the star of the show, adhered to the card with mini glue dots.

My colour inspiration came from my stampin’ write marker pens -

I took a a few of them out of the box and loved how they looked together …

I added some stamping to the inside of the card too,

and adhered a little punched out heart in certainly celery at the top…

I made a matching envelope from a piece of retired nursery nest designer series paper,

with a stamped cardstock circle for the fastening …

My daughter went to Carla’s baby shower a few weeks ago and she asked me to make some gift boxes for the party favours.  I needed to be able to post the boxes to her so neeeded something that would fold flat for posting and that she would then be able to assemble easily when it arrived.  I’m lucky enough to own the pillow box die from Stampin Up, unfortunately no longer available, but it was perfect for what I needed.

my daughter then filled the boxes with jelly babies, baby confetti and some little chocolates wrapped in blue and green which matched perfectly …
