Sale-a-brate good times, come on!

It’s a sale-a-bration!

(OK, so now that song will be going around my head for the rest of the day!)

I made this gift set using some of the fabulous stamp sets available for FREE during Stampin’ Up’s sale-a-bration

– madison avenue, vintage verses and patterned occasions (my favourite)…

Saleabration heart trio

The colour inspiration came from the candlelight Christmas specialty designer series paper – a great way to use up any Christmas papers you may still have around…

Hints of sparkle were added with small hearts punched from champagne glimmer paper, and tiny bows of early espresso scalloped tulle ribbon for texture.

I bought some chocolate hearts from my local suparmarket and adhered to the card with mini glue dots …

heart insert

These projects are good for Valentines, anniversaries, birthdays or just because …

and they fitted in perfectly with my cake from cake class this week…

chocolate mocha heart cake

… a coffee cake covered with chocolate icing, embossed with roses.

Here’s what you need to make today’s card – all supplies from Stampin’ Up!:

Stampin’ Up! event swaps …

Today I’m sharing photos of the beautiful swaps I received from members of the Pink Ladies team at the recent Stampin’ Up! event in Reading.  Swapping is a great way to share ideas and also to sample the lovely goodies from the new catalogues…

I got this cute little tissue holder from my upline, Michelle Last

Next is Nicole’s swap, using the perfectly preserved stamp set and matching die, so beautiful …

The little details Nicole added were stunning – love the glitter, and the tiny linen thread bow over the vellum … so cute!

Next is Sarah’s swap, using googly ghouls – love this little guy!

Peg’s swap – I can’t wait to get the new butterfly punch!

Catherine’s gift box swap, with a little bottle of Molton Brown shower gel inside …

Lynne’s swap using the new mitten punch …

And then I also received swaps from two ladies from other teams …

Marissa’s gift tag …

And I have no idea who made this ring as it had no name on it, but thank you for swapping with me, whoever you are!

I travelled to the event with Sarah - a fellow Pink Lady,

she made me this lovely thank you card and gift bow for the yummy box of mints she bought me …

I loved all the swaps I received.  I am so happy to be a part of the fabulous Pink Ladies team.

You can also see my swaps here.

Stampin’ Up! and why I love them so much …

I attended the Stampin’ Up! training event at Reading recently.  We were treated to some fantastic craft demonstrations by the very talented and lovely Donna Griffith from the United States.  Her projects were all stunning – I really loved her ideas, and at the end of the day, she presented us all with a little gift she’d made for each and everyone of us …

What a fabulous wooden badge, which I will wear on my apron with pride!

A really sweet Easter …

We made an Easter cake in class this week … it’s a chocolate cake filled with chocolate buttercream, covered in chocolate flavoured icing, topped with a chocolate Easter egg covered in chocolate icing, filled with chocolate mini-eggs! Death by chocolate! But what a way to go!

Great fun to make – and the smell of all that chocolate was delicious!

Everything was edible, the ribbon, the bow and even the little primroses…

And, as it was our last cake class before Easter, I made little Easter gifts for each of the girls in my class.

I started by making some punch art bunnies …

Then added some sweeties – no chocolates as there was enough of that on the cakes!

Instead I added a few boiled sweeties wrapped it pastel coloured papers …

with punch art bunnies to top each one, and designer series paper for colour on each

whisper white bunny.

They looked so cute as a little bunch of bunnies!

All papercraft supplies from Stampin’ Up!

Card recipe: cardstock: chocolate chip, whisper white, certainly celery; punches: scallop circle, large oval, small oval, 1/2″ circle; inks: chocolate chip; accessories: soft subtles designer series paper, chocolate chip stampin write marker pen, crop-a-dile, sentiment stamp (retired).
