Creative elements get well soon …

I love my new Creative Elements stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  The images are just so beautiful – as soon as I got it I just had to ink it up for a get well card for Jenni…

I added a few embossed flowers, cut out using my big shot machine and the flower burst embosslit die in whisper white cardstock and adhered to the card with dimensionals.

I stamped the butterflies in real red ink, then cut out using my paper snips. I then wrapped linen thread around the butterflies and tied a knot, leaving short ends to look like their antennae, and popped them up on the card with dimensionals.  A few rhinestones added some bling to their bodies, and I added a couple more either side of the sentiment from the sincere salutations stamp set, stamped in real red ink using my stamp-a-majig to help me line it up.

I can’t wait to use the Creative Elements stamp set on another project!  I love, love, love it!

Get well…

One of our very good friends has recently had major heart surgery to repair one of his valves.  Thankfully, he is doing well, spent only a brief time in ICU and has now been discharged home to recuperate.  The wonders of modern medicine!

I saw a band aid tutorial some time ago on Andrea’s blog, and knew the plaster would be just perfect for the card I wanted to make him.

He loved the card but, judging by the scar that now runs the length of his chest, I think he’s going to need a bigger plaster!  :-)

Get well wishes…

My best friend’s mum is poorly at the moment and in hospital, bless her.  To make things worse, the hospital has been closed to visitors to prevent the spread of infection as there is a virus sweeping through the wards.  I know she won’t be able to receive this card I made for her until she comes home, but I hope it cheers her up a bit anyway:
