I’ve been longing to share the card I made for Anna’s birthday, using the gorgeous patio party designer series paper.  Now that she’s received her card, I can show you  …

Anna's birthday card

I used patio party designer series paper for the background, with its scrummy cakes and pretty colours, and made the sentiment, from the create a cupcake stamp set, the focal image, stamped onto whisper white cardstock cut out with the apothecary accents framelits die.  I did a little bit of stamping on the inside too, with a matching strip of dsp …

The pretty, two-tone, pink pirouette ribbon, available in the spring/summer catalogue, is so soft and lovely, and it ties beautifully into a double bow.  It was definitely the star of the show, adhered to the card with mini glue dots.

Punch art Spiderman …

Inspired by a punch art card I saw on Pinterest, I decided to recreate it for my nephew’s birthday…

Punch art Spiderman

I used the spider web embossing folder from Stampin’ Up to add texture and then did

a little bit of sponging to add shading using sponge daubers and ink…

The punch art was adhered to a base card of bashful blue, with some whisper white clouds punched out using the cupcake punch. I placed Spiderman on a basic grey rectangle of cardstock to represent a building, and added lines freehand for the windows with my white gel pen. The hand-cut banner sentiment is from the itty bitty banners set, which I earned for free during sale-a-bration but is still available to purchase …

Vintage 60th birthday with Everything Eleanor…

My friend was organising a surprise birthday party for one of her friends and asked me to make a special birthday card.  The brief was anything to do with wine and something classy.  I don’t have any stamps that are specifically wine related, so I decided to make the card in wine colours with a vintage style … maybe a tenuous link but that’s all I had to work with!

A little bit of inking in crumb cake, applied with a sponge dauber, helped to give the card a distressed, vintage look …

For texture and a touch of luxury, I added some crochet trim, very vanilla seam binding ribbon and a vintage brad – which completed the look.
