Vintage 60th birthday with Everything Eleanor…

My friend was organising a surprise birthday party for one of her friends and asked me to make a special birthday card.  The brief was anything to do with wine and something classy.  I don’t have any stamps that are specifically wine related, so I decided to make the card in wine colours with a vintage style … maybe a tenuous link but that’s all I had to work with!

A little bit of inking in crumb cake, applied with a sponge dauber, helped to give the card a distressed, vintage look …

For texture and a touch of luxury, I added some crochet trim, very vanilla seam binding ribbon and a vintage brad – which completed the look.

Memorable moments floral birthday …

I love the memorable moments stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  The cursive font of the sentiments is really lovely and looks so great next to the stylish numbers.

80th birthday

My friend, Diane, asked me to make a card for her aunt so I knew which stamp set to turn to.

I first stamped the greeting and then cut this out with the labels collection framelits.

Layered onto a slightly larger label in pool party, and popped up on some dimensionals, it made a real feature of the sentiment.

A variety of flowers punched out in pool party and silver cardstock were added, with whisper white circles made with the owl punch.

The owl punch gives the perfect size centres for the flowers.

Diane asked me to make a cake too, so I used the same colours …

Glimmer glamour …

70th birthday for Anne

Today’s card was inspired by one of my cakes.

The silver glimmer paper looked quite striking against the basic black card,

and looked so sparkly and pretty in real life …

My daughter’s friend asked me to make the cake

in black and silver, with feathers …

World spectacular Stampin’ Up! clockworks …

My friend, Elena, is working in the US at the moment, but before she went she asked if I would make a card for her granddad back home in Germany who is celebrating his 80th birthday in December.

She said he loves antiques, so I took inspiration from the colours used in the world spectacular dsp to ink up the clockworks stamp set for his card.  The designer series paper comes ready distressed for that vintage feel …
