Crafty goodness…

Some friends came round the other day for a cuppa, cake and crafting.

There was lots of laughter and we had so much fun making and creating together…

My theme was “white card and texture”…

Each project was based on a piece of plain white card, and with the addition of a little designer series paper, ink and some ribbon we were able to make these cards and a gift box.

The first was inspired by a card I made recently for my friend’s mum

I adapted it a little to make a smaller, A6 size card …

The ladies loved making all their own embellishments for the card.

Stampin’ Up! make it so easy to get professional results because the punches co-ordinate perfectly with their stamp sets.

Genius!

We used dsp to make the dimensional flowers, which are super easy to do but look so effective.  And because all the products from Stampin’ Up! co-ordinate with each other, the dsp matched perfectly with the ink on the labels – super cute!

The flower is very dimensional so this is definitely a card that would benefit from being hand delivered.

Next we made a matching set -

a birthday card…

with flower embellishments that were a little less dimensional this time,

so the cards could go more easily through the post…

 And a matching gift box…

We used the scraps and off-cuttings to make more embellishments with the Stampin’ Up! embosslits – sweet buttons and beautiful wings.  Nothing went to waste!

All the ladies did so well  and completed all 3 projects - having so much fun in the process!  Some are very new to crafting but you would never guess as their projects looked absolutely beautiful.  Well done ladies!

Love what you do, and share what you love…

I needed a card for my friend’s birthday and was inspired by a card I saw a while back on Caroline Skinner’s blog

This lady is uber-talented, I loved the colours and the way she had put the card together – just gorgeous.  Here’s my take on it…

What I love so much about Stampin’ Up! is its wonderful craft community where everyone is encouraged to share ideas.  Their mission statment is “love what you do, and share what you love…” and I do just love crafting!  And I am so blessed to be an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.  I get to meet so many wonderful people, and share the fabulous Stampin’ Up! products – how cool is that?

For a classy mum …

My friend asked me to make a card for her mum who is a very classy lady…

I used this colour combo on another card here, and loved it so much I decided to use it again -

whisper white for the base and topper, mat and layered with so saffron, some matching ink and dsp, and crumb cake for the sentiment.

I’m totally in love with the embossing folders from Stampin’ Up! – especially the manhattan flower…

I added “mum” to a separate piece of whisper white and added it to the corner of the card like a flower ribbon -

I thought this looked so cute!

My friend loved it … I hope her mum did too!

Wedding wishes…

My friend asked me to make a wedding card for her friends, Kate and Brian.  Here’s what I did…

I used very vanilla and whisper white cardstock, and champagne shimmer paint on the centre of the hearts, to add sparkle and lustre - I love the effect the shimmer paint gives.
