It’s never too early …

OK…I think I might be hooked…couldn’t resist playing along with the Less is More challenge again this week.  As soon as I saw what the challenge was I knew exactly what I wanted to do …and it’s never too early to start with this type of card …

I added some sparkle too with dazzling diamonds…

I just know it’s going to be super quick and easy to stamp a stack of these cards when the time comes – love it!

Stampin Up supplies used:

Cardstock: whisper white; Inks: basic gray, bashful blue; Stamp sets: tiny tags, every little bit, serene snowflakes; Accessories: daffodil delight stampin write marker pen, two way glue pen, dazzling diamonds.

Faux mother of pearl…

I saw a tutorial on the Slitcoaststampers website for the faux mother of pearl technique which was totally new to me.  The tutorial was really easy to follow and I was so pleased with the results.  It gave a very luxurious, expensive feel to the background paper I made.

You can just about see how the shimmer mist paint makes the background shiny …

I made a full A4 size sheet using whisper white cardstock and so had plenty to make several cards…

I used my favourite Nature Walk stamp set, distressed the edges by sponging with crumb cake ink and used the In Stitches stamp to stamp a stitching line up the sides of the card which I think looks just like a row of little bird footprints!  Love it!

Stampin Up supplies used:

Cardstock: whisper white, basic black, very vanilla, crumb cake; Inks: basic gray, crumb cake, black stazon, pink pirouette, champagne mist shimmer paint, bashful blue, certainly celery, so saffron, perfect plum; Stamp sets: in stitches, nature walk, sweet swirls, sincere salutations, occasional quotes (level 3 hostess set); Punches: decorative label; Accessories: blender pen, stampin’ dimensionals, glue dots, whisper white organza ribbon, basic pearls, pretty in pink taffeta ribbon.

Thinking of you …

One of our friends is under the weather at the moment.  I made this just to let her know we are thinking about her.

I love the way the In Stitches stamp echoes the pattern of the flourish from the Strength and Hope set – it was a perfect way to finish off the card.

Stampin Up supplies used:

Cardstock: very vanilla, crumb cake, pink pirouette; Inks: pretty in pink, rose red, crumb cake; Stamp sets: strength and hope, hopeful thoughts, in stitches; Punches: heart to heart, large oval, scallop oval; Accessories: pretty in pink taffeta ribbon, dazzling diamonds, heat and stick powder, glue dots, stampin dimensionals.

Get well…

One of our very good friends has recently had major heart surgery to repair one of his valves.  Thankfully, he is doing well, spent only a brief time in ICU and has now been discharged home to recuperate.  The wonders of modern medicine!

I saw a band aid tutorial some time ago on Andrea’s blog, and knew the plaster would be just perfect for the card I wanted to make him.

He loved the card but, judging by the scar that now runs the length of his chest, I think he’s going to need a bigger plaster!  :-)

Stampin Up supplies used:

Cardstock: bashful blue, whisper white, blush blossom (retired); Inks: pink pirouette, night of navy, real red, bashful blue; Stamp sets: hopeful thoughts, in stitches; Punches: heart to heart; Accessories: paper piercer and mat pack, stampin dimensionals, white gel pen.
