Easter baskets…

I’ve had a lovely holiday spending a glorious few days visiting my daughter down south.  We were very lucky with the weather and have enjoyed lots of lovely day trips and barbeques in the garden every evening – bliss!  Long may the lovely weather continue.

I thought I’d share photos of the Easter baskets I made.  The small baskets are the make and takes we did at Michelle’s training earlier this month.  I used butterflies made with the Stampin Up embosslit to decorate this one for my daughter and filled it with mini eggs:

I made punch art bunnies to decorate these baskets for my neighbour’s children.  I added name tags using the word window punch and a small heart made with the heart to heart punch to finish off.  I wrote their names with a stampin write marker pen in certainly celery:

I also made a larger basket for my daughter’s fiancé … so I could put more chocolate inside of course!  :

I followed instructions on Sandy’s blog  to make the woven basket.  I used one sheet of textured 12″ x 12″ cardstock and it took a little time to make but I loved it when it was done, and it’s surprisingly sturdy too.  I also made the paper straw for the inside by putting the packing paper from my latest delivery from Stampin Up through my shredder – love it!

*edited: Sandy’s blog seems to be no longer available, but her youtube video is still viewable here

Royal wedding…

There is a lot of excitement and celebrations going on today … and I wanted to mark the occasion with a Cath Kidston inspired Union Jack card.  I love the country feel you get when florals are put together with polka dots and stripes…

I used my favourite stamp set from the new mini catalogue – baby blossoms – to create my own designer paper, by first stamping onto whisper white card with regal rose (what else!?) and old olive inks before pouncing with sponge daubers in pink pirouette, certainly celery and so saffron inks to create coloured backgrounds.  I then cut these and some dsp into shapes before adhering them to the card.

Hope you like it! It’s not an exact replica of a Union Jack – but you get the gist!

Enjoy the day!
