Happy Birthday baby…

It was my daughter’s birthday this week and I wanted something really special for her – something with a bit of a “wow”.

I saw the instructions for a “fantasy box” on the In Love With Stamping website and thought this would be the perfect thing. I had so much fun making it, and it certainly seemed to have the wow factor when it was finished!

I also made a gift card holder for her iTunes vouchers, and a “birthday cake” – both of which we learned how to make at the Stampin’ Up convention this year.

I used one of my favourite Stampin’ Up designer papers which came from the sunny day simply scrappin’ kit, sadly now retired, but I just love the bright colours and patterns – gorgeous! I even wrapped one of her presents in the designer paper so that everything co-ordinated – extravagant but so worth it! Here’s how her gifts looked:

And here’s what the fantasy box looks like when it’s opened:

I filled each box with small items such as earrings, a compact and some chocolate. She loved it!

Stampin’ Up! Convention swaps…

Better late than never, here’s a pic of some of the swaps I made for Stampin Up Convention which this year was held at Addington Palace, London, on 5 & 6 November.

I had a fabulous time and everyone was so lovely!

Big thank you to Michelle Last and the rest of the Pink Ladies, for looking after me as I attended on my own and hardly knew anybody at first. The Pink Ladies are a lovely bunch of girls and they made me feel very welcome. Thank you girls!

There are several items like this out in blogland, in fact there are a couple of items in the latest Stampin Up Ideas Book and Catalogue, on pages 59 and 88, which is a great source of inspiration. If you would like a paper copy of your own so you can see all the lovely projects, please contact me and I’ll be happy to help.

Stampin Up supplies used: Cardstock: whisper white, real red, old olive; Inks: real red, old olive, basic gray; Stamp sets: winter post, perfect punches, music notes wheel; Punches: scallop edge, scalloped circle, 1 3/8”  and 1 ¾” circle, designer label; Accessories: satin ribbon in real red and whisper white, dazzling diamonds, two way glue pen, glue dots, sticky strip.

Ruby Wedding anniversary…

My sister and her husband celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary at the weekend and I wanted to make them a keepsake card to mark the occasion.

Earlier this year, I went to a Stampin’ Up training event in Bicester, run by the lovely Michelle Last, and we learned how to make flip albums.  I thought this would be the perfect thing to make for them.

I enlisted the help of my niece to find some of their wedding photographs.  She had to play “Ace Sleuth Detective” and it took her several weeks as she had to do this all without their knowledge, but she finally managed to find the pics, scan them in and email them to me, just in time for me to complete the album.  Thank you Paula!  I couldn’t have done it without you!  Mwah!

Congratulations Lin and Alan, and sending you much love for your Ruby Wedding Anniversary.

The photographs don’t really do it justice but here goes:

A few of the centre pages …

A pic of the whole album taken from above…

Stampin Up supplies used:

Love Stories simply scrappin kit; certainly celery grosgrain ribbon; schoolbook serif numbers stamp set; bashful blue ink.

A friend’s birthday…

It’s my friend, Sarah’s, birthday tomorrow, and I wanted to make her a special card to send from all of us.

She is a really girlie girl and just loves the colour pink, handbags and chocolate! So this is what I came up with …

Hope you like it Sarah, and that you have a lovely birthday weekend away! Have a great time.

Stampin’ Up! supplies used:

cardstock: whisper white, pretty in pink; stamp sets: party this way, just perfect alphabet, cute by the inch (level 2 hostess set); inks: regal rose; punches: scallop circle, boho blossoms; accessories: regal rose designer paper, white gel pen, basic rhinestones, dazzling diamonds, two-way glue pen, stampin’ dimensionals, mini glue dots, snail adhesive, multipurpose liquid glue, silver brad, ribbon and Velcro dots from my stash.

I followed the instructions on Dawn’s blog to make the “handbag” and used it as a topper for this card, and cased the little cover for the chocolate from my Stampin’ Up mummy, Michelle’s, Convention swap – thank you Michelle!

The chocolate was adhered with a couple of mini glue dots and the “handbag” opens to reveal a birthday message inside.

Thanks for stopping by today.
